July 29, 2010: Daniel Krichbaum was appointed as the Director of the Michigan Department of Civil Rights by the state's Civil Rights Commission on Monday, July 26, 2010, according to The Detroit Free Press. He was the Commission's Acting Director since March, 2010. He succeeded Kelvin Scott, 47, who died on Feb. 20, 2010, from cancer. The eight-member Commission appointed Krichbaum as the Director after publicly interviewing four finalists.
