July 7, 2010: Richard DesLauriers was appointed as the Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Boston Division on Thursday, July 1, 2010. DesLauriers was most recently the Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterintelligence Division at the FBI's Headquarters in Washington, D.C., since March, 2008. In that post, he was responsible for nationwide counterintelligence operations and espionage investigations. DesLauriers has worked for the FBI since January, 1987. The FBI is a division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
